286 new positions in Police and Fire Department in March

In March, 286 new positions will be announced in the Police and the Fire Service, with the recruitment committee already having a job.

Parliament has released 200 posts of police officers, 56 posts of firefighters and 30 posts of special police officers. These positions have been vacated after retirements, while the vacancies in the Police are much more. The procedures are currently being prepared, so that the positions can be announced.

The procedure that will be followed this year will be the same as the one applied last year, that is, applications will be accepted only electronically through the "Ariadne" system.

In addition to the written exams, the candidates will go through a series of tests, which will largely determine whether they will be candidates to wear the uniform of a police officer. As it was found last year, most candidates are cut due to body mass index, endurance road test and hand strength.

Prospective police officers must have a specific body mass index and those who are overweight are automatically excluded from the process. According to the new procedures voted by the Parliament, both men and women candidates for recruitment in the Police, will have to go through specific tests at a specific time, otherwise they will be automatically excluded.

Those interested should also undergo psychometric tests to determine who the person is. In the past it was seen that people who wore the uniform had psychological problems and the service was forced to release them.

Psychometric tests, in addition to showing whether a candidate is able to wear the uniform of a police officer, will show if they are prone to corruption.
