The Pafos Police arrested a 28-year-old person for an investigated case of theft from a church and illegal possession of property.

According to the Police Director of Paphos, Nikos Tsappis, following information given to the Police, a 28-year-old person was located in the Exo Vrysi area, near the chapel of Agios Georgios, within the Paphos area, in whose possession, after an investigation, property was found for which he could not give sufficient explanations as to how he secured it.

Specifically, according to Mr. Tsappis, an electronic device (tablet), a speaker and a portable device for charging electronic devices were found in the possession of the 28-year-old. The suspect was also in possession of a knife and in addition to the charges of theft and unlawful possession of property he is also charged with carrying a knife.

When questioned, the suspect admitted to the TAE investigators that on two different dates he broke into the church of Agios Georgios and stole money from the bank. The 28-year-old was arrested and taken into custody.
