Members of the Police in Nicosia arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with an investigated case of residential burglary and theft of property. The 29-year-old suspect was taken into custody for the purposes of police examinations.
According to the data under review, the burglary was committed on April 28, at noon, in an apartment in an apartment building in the area of Agioi Omologitos, in Nicosia. According to the resident's complaint, jewelry, clothing, and appliances, with a total value of 76,851 euros, were stolen from her apartment.
As part of the investigation of the case, members of the Burglary Squad, TAE Nicosia, yesterday carried out an operation to control suspicious persons, in the area of the burglary. Around 7.00:29 in the evening, they spotted the 29-year-old moving suspiciously on foot in the area and subjected him to a check. In a subsequent search of the XNUMX-year-old's car, members of the Police located a mobile phone, which was later identified as part of the property stolen during the burglary under investigation.
After the 29-year-old suspect did not give a satisfactory explanation for the possession of the mobile phone, the members of the Police proceeded to arrest him for the spontaneous offense of illegal possession of property, while after it was established that the 29-year-old, a citizen of a third country, is illegally in Cyprus, they proceeded to his arrest also for the self-inflicted crime of illegal stay on the territory of the Republic.
