From January 2023 to September 2023, 7.631 irregular immigrants arrived in Cyprus, while in the same period, 6.987 were deported or returned voluntarily to their countries, according to information from the Ministry of the Interior.
The return/deportation rate of irregular migrants on arrivals is as high as 92%, according to the data.
Indicatively, in the corresponding period of 2022, the number of arrivals was 13.599, while the returns were 5.042, with the corresponding percentage varying at 37%.

It is also noted that the Minister of the Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou, stated that "for the first time the balance of arrivals-returns is positive".
