Public and private high schools of the 1rd and 15rd Lyceums are opening and retail trade, including department stores and shopping malls, and restrictions on gatherings remain, announced at a press conference the Minister of Health Konstantinos Ioannou, after the meeting of the Minister de-escalation of COVID measures. The new measures are valid from 8-2 February. It is clarified that the schools open on XNUMX/XNUMX, while there was no mention of the need for a mask by the students in the schools.
Mr. Ioannou, at the conference with the head of the advisory scientific committee Konstantinos Tsioutis, said that the epidemiological picture is taken seriously and especially the number of patients in the ICU. He said that risky moves are avoided and the goal is to return to normalcy as soon as possible, but in safe conditions. He stressed that the main weapon is the increasing controls with rapid test of all employees in the companies that open.
Regarding the gatherings, the Minister of Health stated that gatherings in homes up to two people will be allowed if they come from the same family and up to four people from February 8.
The Minister said that he opens the retail trade, department stores and shopping malls, churches, archeological sites but with restrictions and protocols that include diagnostic tests.
He also said that by the beginning of March the goal is to vaccinate over 80 and health professionals and by the end of March to have covered 100,000 citizens.
