Patient complaints about overcharging by personal doctors are on the rise.

Speaking on the program Mesimeri and Kati, the Press Representative of OSAK, Dimitris Lambrianidis, who mentioned that they have received many repeated complaints about specialist doctors who charge 25 euros instead of 6 which is the fee for a visit.

He added that doctors encourage patients to pay 25 euros to get direct access without having a referral from a personal doctor while some others try to trick patients and charge them 25 euros to serve them on a priority basis.

"This is a small sample of what is happening as many patients do not report the incidents because they are either afraid or do not believe that anything will change," he noted.
