The new relaxations announced last Thursday, regarding the maximum number of people in meetings, come into force from today, July 12.
Based on the good epidemiological picture of Cyprus, the Ministry of Health had announced the increase of the maximum number of persons allowed to attend social gatherings.
Specifically, as of today, the maximum number of persons allowed to attend social gatherings in homes and / or public spaces (physical presence in the same premises / facility regardless of indoor or outdoor), increases from 150 to 250 people for outdoor and from 75 to 100 people indoors.
The Ministry clarifies that the simultaneous mass gathering is not allowed both inside and outside. In case the social gatherings take place in houses, the maximum number also includes the permanent residents.
Also, in terms of restaurants, the maximum number of people allowed to be served in restaurants, increases to 250 people for outdoor areas.
In terms of interiors, the maximum number of people remains at 100 people.
As the Ministry notes, the measure for keeping a distance of 3 sq.m. is still valid in each case. for interiors and 2 sq.m. for outdoor spaces per person, regardless of the square meters of each premises.
For example, if an estate has 600 sq.m. outdoors and based on the measure for keeping a distance of 2 sq.m. per person, could serve up to 300 people, with the new decision, the number of customers can not exceed 250. If a premises has 450 sq.m. indoors and based on the measure for keeping a distance of 3 sq.m. per person, could serve up to 150 people, the number of people that can be gathered can not exceed 100.
The above regulation applies only to the following categories of catering facilities provided for in the Decree of the Minister of Health, dated 5 June 2020:

§ Hotels and tourist accommodation
§ Taverns
§ Cafes
§ Pizzerias
§ Breweries, snack bars and bars
§ Cafes
§ Canteens and / or dining areas of schools, sports clubs, cultural clubs, clubs, associations, etc.
