Bookings of flights and holiday packages from Britons to the popular tourist destinations of the orange British travel list increased significantly yesterday, as representatives of travel companies reported.

The increase is due to the confirmation by the Minister of Transport Grand Saps that from July 19 for the fully vaccinated and for the minor residents of the United Kingdom the obligation of ten days of isolation when they return to England from these countries is lifted.

EasyJet announced that bookings for flights to "orange" countries increased by 400% and vacation packages sold by 440%. Among the most popular destinations are Corfu, Alicante, Malaga, Faro and Nice.

As Johan Ludgren, the company's CEO, commented, "Europe has now become 'green' for double-vaccinated people." He added that he had always argued that vaccination would be the key to unlocking international travel.

British Airways announced that "within hours" of Mr. Saps' noon announcements yesterday, a 96% increase in traffic to its website was recorded.

Tui also told the BBC that there had been a huge increase in visits to the booking website, "which shows that the demand is incredibly high". The company added that the most popular destinations are the Mediterranean countries.

Finally, Noel Iosifidis from the Association of Independent Tour Operators, which specializes in holidays in Greece and Cyprus, said that for the first time this year bookings at the travel agency of Sunvil to Greece reached the number of new and postponed bookings for 2022, to one important "landmark".

However, he called on the British government to help reduce the cost of PCR testing for those returning from the orange countries within two days of arriving in the UK.
