TUS Airways informed the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Giannis Karousos, about its decision to expand and double the flights for the Paphos-Athens route. This is a move that is of great importance for our country, and especially for the citizens of Paphos, whose response has proven that the air connectivity of Paphos Airport with Athens can be sustainable, further enhancing the connectivity of Paphos Airport.

The airline had included in its flight program the Paphos-Athens route on December 10, 2021 with two flights per week and with initial planning for a total of eight flights until January 9, 2022. The positive response from the passenger public and, consequently, the viability of the flights, led the company to the decision to continue the route after January 9, 2022, increasing the number of flights to four weekly until March 2022.

In addition, the intention for expansion of flights from Paphos to Athens after March, as well as their increase to eight flights per week, provided that demand will be maintained at satisfactory levels.

"The maintenance of Paphos in the flight planning of TUS Airways and the doubling of flights to Athens is for the residents of Paphos and Limassol Provinces, but also Cyprus in general, a particularly important development, which will have multiple benefits for air connectivity. tourism, but also the economy in general. The direct flight from Paphos to Athens was a request of the local community of Paphos, which proved that this flight can be sustainable. I hope that this support will continue until March in order to achieve the extension of the route on a 12-month basis ", commented Mr. Karousos.

At the same time, the Minister of Transport is in constant contact with the company, with the aim of exploring the possibility for further expansion of its flight program in Cyprus and especially of the routes from Paphos.
