The Police are taking increased measures for the three-day Flood, Saturday, May 30 to Monday, June 1, with priority given to the protection and safety of citizens.
According to a police announcement, to prevent road collisions, alleviate traffic and provide all possible assistance to citizens traveling on the road network, the measures being taken include an increased presence of members of the Police and in particular of the Traffic Departments on motorways, intercity roads and especially on the main road arteries.
As reported, within the framework of the measures taken for road safety, intensified police checks of traffic violations will also be carried out, with particular emphasis on traffic violations that have been proven to contribute to fatal and serious road collisions, such as speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
It is added that due to the increased traffic expected to be observed on the road network, the Police appeal to drivers to be particularly careful and to comply with the Highway Code and traffic signs, as well as with the instructions of the police officers on duty.
