Flights to and from the illegal airport of Timbos during the period January – May 2023 increased by 40%.
According to the Press and Information Office, "Cyprus" refers today to data published by the "Civil Aviation Department" of the "Ministry of Public Works and Transport", during the period January-May 2023, based on which the number of aircraft that arrived/departed increased by 1.157 compared to the same period last year.
According to the publication, this increase allowed the transport of 368 thousand 286 more passengers. It is also reported that during the first 5 months of last year, a total of 8 thousand 415 aircraft and 978 thousand 157 passengers were transported to and from the illegal airport of Tymbus, while during the same period of this year, 9 thousand 572 aircraft were transported and 1 million 346 thousand 443 passengers.
It is added that in the first 5 months of this year, 71 thousand 151 transit flights were made over the illegal airport against 57 thousand 266 in the same period last year.
This year, Kypris writes, 13 thousand 885 more transit flights took place in the airspace of the illegal airport compared to the same period last year.
