What the figures of the Statistical Service show for the 2nd quarter of 2023

A significant increase of 17,2% was recorded in the number of Vacancies in the 2nd quarter of 2023 on an annual basis, while there was an increase of 5,7% on a quarterly basis.

According to data published on Wednesday by the Cyprus Statistical Service, the number of vacant positions in the 2nd quarter of 2023 reached 13.027, showing an increase of 1.914 positions (17,2%) compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year which was 11.113. In relation to the 1st quarter of 2023, an increase of 699 positions (5,7%) was observed.

The vacancy rate to total employees and vacancies in the 2nd quarter of 2023 was 2,9%, while the previous quarter and the corresponding quarter of 2022 were 2,8% and 2,7% respectively.

The highest vacancy rates in the 2nd quarter of 2023 are observed in the Sectors of Accommodation and Catering Services (7,3%), Transportation and Storage (4,5%) and Electricity, Natural Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning (4,1 .XNUMX%).
