Cypriot authorities are conducting investigations to locate a ship that set sail from Ashdod bound for Cyprus on Sunday, channel N12 reported. Communication with the vessel was lost shortly before it reached Cyprus.
Israeli authorities are also participating in the investigations, according to Ynet.
The boat was carrying five people, and their condition remains unknown. The disappearance of the yacht comes as Israel is being hit by severe weather, "Byron," which moved in from Cyprus and brought heavy rain and strong winds.
Israeli authorities are investigating the reasons why the boat was allowed to sail, despite the impending bad weather.
