The educational organizations OELMEK - POED - OLTEK consider that the need for recognition of the value and the offer of the teacher by the society itself and strengthening of his professional prestige becomes urgent.

In their announcement, on the occasion of the World Teacher's Day, the educational organizations state that especially this year and through the crisis of the pandemic Covid-19, teachers have taken on the responsibility of providing quality education in a completely different and unprecedented environment, playing a leading role in ensuring safety and health within the school community.

As they note, the leading role assigned to teachers has emerged through the enormous efforts they have made (but also continue to make daily), to deal with the consequences of the pandemic.

In addition, they add that the pandemic has highlighted the urgent need to redesign and redefine working and learning conditions, so as to create better prospects for the public school.

"The employer side has the obligation and duty to ensure the appreciation, recognition and respect for teachers, for the multidimensional work they perform. In this context, the provision of decent working conditions is required, which presuppose (among other things) sufficient resources for education and schools, safe and healthy working (school) environment, academic freedom, professional autonomy, trust in the teacher, high quality initial education and training and continuous in-service training and professional development ", they add.

Finally, they note that on the occasion of World Teachers' Day, the voice of teachers should be heard and be another reminder to Governments of the important role of teachers in society, of the valuable teaching and pedagogical work they offer to thousands. students.
