The Department of Road Transport (DRT) is recalling the batches of six dangerous vehicles, which were notified during the 2nd week of 2026 on the website of the European Union (EU) early warning system for dangerous non-food products (Safety Gate).

In its announcement, the Department calls on manufacturers, representatives, distributors of the manufacturer, importers and sellers, who may have placed or are placing such products on the market of the Republic of Cyprus, to inform the Department of Road Transport accordingly. It is noted that the above economic operators must take all necessary measures so that the said products are recalled as provided for in the relevant legislation.

The Department also calls on consumers who own the specific cars or motorcycles to contact the manufacturer or the manufacturer's representative or distributor for instructions. It also calls on consumers who own dangerous parts, where appropriate, to stop using them and immediately return them to the point of purchase (if possible), informing the seller accordingly.

In the event that a manufacturer, representative, manufacturer's distributor, importer or seller refuses to comply with the above consumer rights, the consumer is invited to submit his complaint in writing, on the website of the Consumer Protection Service.

For further information, consumers can contact the Department of Road Transport or at the email address recalls@rtd.mcw.gov.cy.
