The Ministry of Health announces that today, February 5 2022:
- 1 death from the disease was announced COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 741.
- 225 patients COVID-19 of which 65 are in serious condition. 73,34% of patients do not have a history of vaccination.
- 19 post-COVID patients who have ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continue to be hospitalized in intubated condition due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.
- A total of 87,025 disease detection tests have been performed by the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid detection method (antigen rapid test).
- 2,568 (positivity rate: 2,95%) new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test (antigen rapid test), raising the total number of cases in 269,391.

A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:
The 1st death reported with the ultimate cause of death being attributed to the disease COVID-19, it's about:
- A woman, aged 94, who ended up on February 4 at the Limassol General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 amounts to 741, of which:
462 men (62,3%), and
- 279 women (37,7%).
The average age of those who die from the disease is 76,2 years.
B. Patients:
In total, 225 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 65 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 65 patients in serious condition, 29 are intubated, 4 are admitted to an intravenous intensive care unit and 32 to an intensive care unit.

C. Positive incidents Covid-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 87,025 diagnoses made, 5,859 were made by molecular method (PCR) and 81,166 by the method of antigen rapid test, 2,568 cases of the disease were identified. COVID-19, which emerged as follows:
- 57 cases of 3,179 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 323 cases from 2,415 samples taken through private initiative.
- 26 cases from 265 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 1,301 cases from 45,191 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 861 cases from 35,975 samples examined by the method of antigen rapid test through the program of the Ministry of Health.
