The proceedings before the Court of the British Bases of Decelia, concerning a case of child pornography in a high school in the province of Larnaca, for which the suspect is a minor, aged 12, have been postponed until Tuesday, November 14.
According to information from the British Bases, today Friday, November 1, the 14-year-old was scheduled to answer before the Court on the charge he is facing, namely child pornography.
However, the case was adjourned until November 12 for the 14-year-old to receive, the Court was told, more legal advice.
Until then, the restrictive conditions imposed by the previous trial on the minor, with which he must comply, are still valid.
In particular, the minor was prohibited from using electronic devices, such as telephones, laptops, tablets and electronic computers, from using the internet and from contacting the "victims" and others that may affect the case.
He was also asked to comply with school regulations.
It is recalled that in the previous hearing the minor did not respond to the charge against him until he consulted a lawyer.
According to the facts of the case, at around 13:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, a complaint was made by the school to the Bases Police, for the distribution of edited nude photos, depicting high school students and teachers in the province of Larnaca.
Based on the complaint, a search warrant was obtained and executed at the residence of the 14-year-old, who was arrested.
The suspect gave a written statement in which he allegedly pleaded guilty in the case and was released on bail.
It is noted that the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth is awaiting the completion of the Police investigation in the case.
For its part, the Republic Police is ready to assist the investigations of the British Bases Police, if requested, through the Electronic Crime Prosecution Service.
