The Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Andreas Grigoriou, categorically rejected the allegations of unequal treatment of livestock farmers by province, adding that sampling is carried out based on an approved protocol and epidemiological plan.
Also speaking on the Morning Schedule, Mr. Grigoriou reiterated that in units where cases are identified, culling is a mandatory measure, without distinction between vaccinated and unvaccinated animals.
Regarding the cost of social insurance, he said that it will be incorporated into compensation for loss of income.
He also noted that full compensation is provided for the killing of animals, the destruction of milk, animal feed and other materials.
As he explained, compensation for the animals will be paid within 90 days of confirmation of the cases, with the first payments expected by May 20.
