The Police yesterday arrested two individuals, aged 16 and 17, in the context of an investigation into the arson of a kindergarten, as well as the arson of a car, which were committed on the evening of last Saturday, February 01, in the Nicosia district.
According to the information under investigation, shortly after 11.00:56 on Saturday night, a fire broke out in a Public and Community Kindergarten, in the Nicosia district, as well as in a car, owned by a XNUMX-year-old woman, which was parked in an adjacent area.
Police officers rushed to the area for examinations, as well as members of the Fire Department, who extinguished the fire in the kindergarten. The fire in the car had already been extinguished by the 56-year-old owner of the vehicle.
The examinations that followed established that both the fire in the kindergarten and the fire in the parked car had been started maliciously. During the examinations conducted by the Nicosia Fire and Rescue Service, evidence emerged against the 16-year-old and 17-year-old. After warrants were issued for their arrest, they were arrested yesterday, Tuesday, by members of the Police and taken into custody for the purposes of investigating the arson case.
The case is being investigated by the Nicosia TAE.
