Citizens of Latsia disagree with the state's intention to create two accommodation centers for unaccompanied minors (13-18 years old) in Latsia. These centers will be able to host children with a migrant background. One center is intended to be built on carpet/state land along Christodoulou Papathanasiou Street (behind Alfa station) and the other in the area of Latsion High School, opposite the cemetery (on the border of Latsion - Geri).
Next Saturday at 3pm, the Latsia Residents' Initiative Group is planning a pan-demonstration, for the specific issue, with the support of organized bodies of the municipality. The gathering will take place in the parking lot opposite the town hall of Latsia. There will be an update and it will follow protest march with cars to the Presidential Palace. At the same time, it will also start collection of signatures.
The committee of the initiative group invites citizens to donate potential present "to prevent the plans of the state that aim to victimize the residents of the municipalities of Latsia and Geri". At the same time, he has created a group on Viber, which to date has more than 300 people.
It is important, he notes, "that we all work together for to prevent the above designs that will degrade the quality of our lives!"
