The UN peacekeeping force in Cyprus (UNFICYP) rejects claims in relation to I/O agricultural land within the UN-controlled no-fly zone in the Denia area as "false and misleading".
This is what the press representative of UNFICYP, Alim Sidik, said in a statement, in relation to "claims made by the head of the community of Denia that UNFICYP gives a/c agricultural land to the Turks for payment".
According to Mr. Siddiq, "UNFICYP remains focused on working with both sides to prevent tensions and maintain the status quo along the demilitarized zone."
"We reject claims in relation to agricultural land within the UN-controlled no-fly zone in the Denia area as false and misleading," the UNFIYP spokesperson said.
He also noted that the UN peacekeeping force "continues to work closely with both sides to monitor and protect the status of the region".
