The Council of Ministers decided to revoke Joe Low's Cypriot citizenship on Thursday, according to reliable information.
As a competent source told KYPE, when it came to the government's attention at the end of March that there was insufficient evidence to revoke the citizenship of the Malaysian wanted person, the Ministry of the Interior mobilized immediately and turned to Interpol to gather the necessary evidence.
According to the same source, with the information received, the Ministry of the Interior forwarded the issue to the Cabinet, which decided on Thursday to revoke Joe Low's citizenship.
Malaysian Joe Lowe is wanted for his involvement in the embezzlement of more than $4,5 billion from Malaysia's sovereign wealth fund 1MDB in 2015.
