Today begins the aeronautical exercise "EUNOMIA", which is being held for the fifth consecutive year as part of the Quadrilateral Initiative of Cyprus, Greece, France and Italy, with the aim of strengthening security and stability in the wider region and ensuring freedom of navigation.

An announcement by the Ministry of Defense states that the "EUNOMIA 5 - 2024" exercise is coordinated by Greece and will take place in the sea and air space of the eastern Mediterranean, from September 12 to 18, 2024.

The aim of the exercise is to improve the mutual understanding and operational interoperability of the participating air forces, it states.

The cooperation of the four countries demonstrates the collective intent and commitment to implement the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and Customary International Law, the statement added.

It is noted that during the exercise naval and aviation trainings will be held and subjects of maritime interdiction, anti-aircraft operations, surface and anti-submarine warfare operations, operations against asymmetric threats, search and rescue operations, as well as the regular part of civilian evacuation operations and exercise will be examined cyber war.
