The installation of smart meters to record electricity consumption begins today, by crews of the Electricity Authority, in provinces of free Cyprus.
EAC Press Spokesperson, Christina Papadopoulou, stated that, with the new meters:
– The consumer will be able to control his energy behavior.
– The Authority's accounts will be issued on time and accurately, and any damage will be identified and repaired much more quickly.
The installation will begin:
– In Nicosia, between Stasinou, Digeni Akrita and John Kennedy streets
– In Limassol, Germasogeia, Agios Athanasios and along the coast in Neapoli and the Enaeri area.
– In Larnaca, Finikoudes and Kato Paphos.
An EAC announcement states that for the safe replacement of the meter, an interruption of the supply is required, which is not expected to exceed 20 minutes.
