The distribution of pediatric vaccines begins tomorrow

It seems that the problem that had arisen in the past in relation to the pediatric vaccines, which, although ordered in time by the Ministry of Health, had not arrived in Cyprus on time, due to the restrictions imposed on international flights, will also begin to subside. .

The incident had provoked strong protests from pediatricians in Cyprus who for several weeks had been expressing their displeasure over the delay in receiving the vaccines and, consequently, the vaccination of the children.

In fact, the Cyprus Pediatric Society had returned last Saturday in a new announcement, after a meeting it had with the organized patients, demanding once again the intervention of the Minister of Health.

"The representatives of the medical community testified (during the meeting) their intense concern for the threatened impact on the vaccination coverage of the child population of Cyprus, which with the contribution of the Cyprus Pediatric Society has remained at high levels and the consequent risks for public health, with the increased possibility of recurrence of epidemics of forgotten diseases ".

The problem, however, as reported by "Liberal"It seems that it is being resolved, as the Ministry of Health has managed to secure around 1.200 vaccines (out of the 4.000 that were ordered) which are expected to arrive in Cyprus today and their availability to pediatricians of the General Health System may begin tomorrow, except of course if procedural problems arise.

It is reported that the administration of vaccines to the population is the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, which orders and secures the necessary quantities and then sends them to pediatricians and personal physicians of the General Health System, who are also responsible for their administration. in children and adults.
