The National Guard, in the context of upgrading communication with reservists and national guards, has secured a digital application for sending notifications via text messages (SMS) to the mobile phones of reservists and national guards.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Defense, these messages will concern a reminder, one month in advance, of the date of the upcoming tactical presentation, an emergency call to participate in a TAMS (which will not exceed one hour) and the obligation to be in the Military Service.
To avoid messages being considered "spam", the identity of the SMS sender will be "ARMY CY".
Reservists and National Guardsmen who are not receiving messages may have incorrect or inactive contact information in the computerized recruitment system. In this case, they should contact the Unit or Recruitment Department that monitors their recruitment, to check and update their information.
If a recipient receives messages in error, they will include a contact number for correcting the information in the computer system.
The Ministry of Defense reminds that a reservist is considered "regularly called up" only if he is in possession of an Individual Call-up Sheet (ISL) for the current year or if the reasons for the temporary suspension of their reserve service are still valid.
When reporting to the Units or Conscription Departments, reservists and national guards must have with them: Their identity card or any other official document of the Republic, from which their identity is evident, and the Special Route Sheet.
