Complaints, concerning a small number of doctors, that urge patients not to be vaccinated against the coronavirus pandemic, are thoroughly evaluated by the competent bodies of the Pancyprian Medical Association.

In a statement, the PIS states that "all the data and reports of citizens so far are studied by the competent bodies with due care and in full compliance with the provisions of the relevant legislation and regulations governing the operation of the Association."

He adds that "the procedure that the medical body must follow is specific and legally defined".

The PIS clarifies that based on the procedure, "the medical body decides whether to appoint an investigating officer for these cases and depending on the officer's conclusion, the Board is called to decide whether the doctor or doctors will be referred to the Disciplinary ".

He notes that "the seriousness that the medical body must show presupposes strict observance of the laws and regulations and no derogation can be allowed and the observance of the established regulations is not an oligarchy, but a responsibility".

"The steps taken by the PIS in such procedures are defined by the legislation and not by public criticism by doctors or not, whether in good faith or not," the announcement concludes.
