No objection was filed against the candidacies in Famagusta for the parliamentary elections that will be held on May 30, 2021, the Famagusta District and Famagusta Electoral District Commissioner Georgios Chrysafinis told KYPE.

He added that "from yesterday at 12.30 until today at the respective time, no objection was made by anyone against the candidacies submitted to the Famagusta constituency for the election of members of the House of Representatives."

Answering a relevant question, Mr. Chrysafinis said that "yesterday at the Municipal Hall of Sotiras were submitted until 12.30, 128 candidacies, from 15 parties and Associations and an independent, who in the afternoon arrived at the District Administration of Famagusta in Paralimni and in writing . Thus, today there are a total of 127 candidates from 15 combinations of parties, of which eight were complete, ie they included 11 candidates, which are the seats of the Famagusta constituency ".

He explained that out of 11 candidates, 8 parties submitted, namely AKEL (Correctional Party of Working People), the Democratic Alarm (DISY), the Democratic Party (DIKO), the Solidarity, the Democratic Party (DIPA), the National Popular Front (EILA) ), the Movement of Ecologists - Citizens' Cooperation and the Movement of Social Democrats EDEK.

Famagusta submitted ten candidates for Cyprus, nine candidates for the Change of Generation, eight for the Active Citizens - United Cypriot Hunters Movement, five for the Awakening -2020, four for the People's Breath, with two for the Animal Party and one for the Patriotic Party.

To another question, Georgios Chrysafinis answered that "the registered voters of the province of Famagusta are 114, 393 of which about 32 thousand are in the free province of Famagusta and will exercise their right to vote in 54 polling stations. However, because most of the province of Famagusta is occupied, displaced voters will vote in 191 polling stations located in the other constituencies of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos, with most of them, 84 in Larnaca province ».

Asked about the mobile ballots, the District of Famagusta replied that "we are ready to operate up to 10 mobile units, something that will depend on the conditions that will prevail on May 30." In essence, the mobile unit will "visit" at home the confirmed case of coronavirus, which will have been declared in advance, on a special platform that will operate at the Ministry of Interior ".

As for the trapped voters, he said that "they number 197 and are located in the communities of Rizokarpasos and Agia Triada, however these people will vote in polling stations in Acheritou. The issue is being handled by the Ministry of Interior for the way that they can go to the free areas of the Republic to exercise their right to vote ".
