A 24-year-old resident of Larnaca was arrested yesterday on a warrant and detained in order to facilitate the investigation into an investigated case of child abuse on the internet.
The investigation of the case started after information received by the Police, from Europol, according to which a specific user of a social networking platform uploaded three videos of sexual abuse of minors on the internet.
From the examinations of the Cybercrime Prosecution Branch, a testimony was secured against a 24-year-old. Yesterday morning, a search was carried out at the home of the 24-year-old in Larnaca, where two mobile phones and a computer were found and confiscated as evidence.
An arrest warrant was issued against the 24-year-old, under which he was arrested and detained in order to facilitate the investigations.
The Cybercrime Prosecution Division continues the examinations.
