Last night, the Police proceeded with the arrest of a 29-year-old man, to facilitate the investigations regarding an investigated case of aiding the illegal entry into the territory of the Republic of Cyprus. A judicial arrest warrant was pending against the 29-year-old, regarding the above case, which was committed in Nicosia, in May 2022.
The 29-year-old was stopped last night, for a check, on a street in Nicosia, by members of the Police. He initially presented false identification to the police, resulting in his arrest for the self-inflicted offense of impersonation.
After securing his facts, it was found that a judicial arrest warrant was pending against him, regarding a case of assisting illegal entry into the territory of the Republic, committed last May.
He was therefore arrested on a warrant and taken into custody to facilitate investigations.
The photo and personal details of the 29-year-old were published by the Police in an attempt to locate him on May 12, 2022. After his arrest, further publication of his details is not necessary.
