The Police today arrested a 20-year-old Police Probationer, who was recruited into the Police on January 27, 2025, for facilitating interrogations regarding an ongoing drug case. Two other individuals, both 22 years old, were arrested for facilitating interrogations in the same case.
The following offenses are being investigated against them:
Conspiracy to commit a felony
Illegal possession of drugs
Illegal possession of drugs with intent to supply
Supplying drugs to other persons
Participation in a criminal organization
Money laundering
The three arrested were brought before the Nicosia District Court today, which issued an eight-day detention order against them.
YKAN (Nicosia District Committee) is investigating the case.
Regarding the arrest of the Probationary Police Officer, the Police Leadership emphasizes again that the fight against corruption is its highest priority and such phenomena are unacceptable and will be treated as such.
