Sponsorships for installation / replacement of solar hot water production systems in homes

The Ministry of Energy, Trade, Industry and Tourism (YEEBT) announces that from next Monday, the implementation of the Sponsorship Plan for the Installation or Replacement of Solar Hot Water Production Systems in the Homes begins.

The project is part of the Plan Pack that is being developed and which will be financed by the RES and EXE Fund in order to reduce energy costs to consumers through the financing of Energy Saving Measures (EEE) and the installation of Renewable systems. Energy Sources (RES), as well as the achievement of the goals of the Republic in the sectors of RES and EXE. for 2020.

The total budget of the Plan amounts to 300.000 euros and is expected to cover about 1.000 solar systems installations. The Plan will remain in force until the available budget is exhausted.

The applications, together with all the accompanying documents, must be submitted to the Management Committee of the RES and EXE Fund at the address, Andreas Araouzou 13-15, 5th Floor, Nicosia or at the local provincial offices of the Ministry.

The Plan has retroactive effect and applies to solar systems / solar panels which have been purchased and installed after 01/01/2017 and provides sponsorship:
A. up to € 350 per housing unit and per beneficiary, for the installation of an integrated solar water heating system,
B. up to € 175 per housing unit and per beneficiary, for the installation of solar panels.

Receipt of applications does not create an obligation for the Commission to approve them, if they do not meet the provisions of the Plan.

It is recommended that, before completing the application, the Plan be studied and any clarifications that will be posted on the website www.energy.gov.cy.
