The Ministry of Health today gave new clarifications regarding the movement of citizens to a Province other than their permanent residence, as well as the transfer of citizens to places of religious worship during the Holy Week, in order to implement the protocol more effectively.

In its announcement, the Ministry of Health clarifies specifically that by sending sms it is allowed to move citizens for transfer to another privately owned property (eg holiday home, etc.) in the Province of permanent residence and / or in another Province outside the permanent residence.

Furthermore, he clarifies that the passage to places of religious worship during the period of Holy Week (April 26 - May 2) is allowed only for the hours of the Divine Liturgy.

In relation to the gatherings on Easter Sunday, the competent Ministry states that exceptionally and only for Easter Sunday (May 2), in addition to the permanent residents, the presence of persons in the houses is allowed, meaning that the total number of people in the house does not exceed 10 persons, including minors.

In the meantime, he notes that exceptionally and only for the services of Holy Week (April 26, 2021-2 May), the presence of believers inside the temples is allowed, provided that they present their vaccination certificate for the COVID-19, proving that they have been vaccinated with at least one dose at least three (3) weeks before and in compliance with the distancing measures.

For the above period, the presence of persons in the courtyards of the temples is also allowed, provided that the persons present are seated and in compliance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

Regarding sports, in a newer clarification, he states that indoor and outdoor sports facilities and swimming pools operate on the basis of the instructions of the COM.

A. Movements:

1.    What time does the travel ban apply?

-       Category 7: Go to a place of religious worship for the purposes of individual prayer or for ceremonies, such as funerals, weddings, baptisms (maximum number of people in ceremonies 10 people).

-       Category 8 (upon presentation of the necessary evidence that is valid for each case):

  • Movement of divorced or separated parents, which is necessary for seamless communication and contact between parents and children. Individuals must provide a Judicial Decree proving that they have a responsibility to care for their children on the specific days / hours of travel.
  • Specialized treatments for people with disabilities or people with chronic diseases, together with their companion.
  • Movement for transport of hoplite to and from the camp.
  • Transfer to and from Larnaca and Paphos Airports for the transfer of persons, with the presentation of a proof (ticket) which proves the day and time of arrival / departure.

7.    Is movement between Provinces allowed?

C. Sports:

E. Businesses / Services:

17. How will private service companies operate?

Private service companies (eg law firms, accounting firms, insurance companies, service companies, etc.), except for the essential services specified in the Decree, work remotely. Allowed within the business premises the physical presence of employees not exceeding 20% ​​of the total number of staff with a minimum presence of three (3) people and a maximum of 25 people.
