The European City Facility (EUCF) will provide € 320 million to help financially troubled municipalities and local authorities plan their investment ideas to carry out the actions outlined in the Climate and Action Plans. energy.
According to a relevant announcement, the Plan aims at the construction of a substantial pipeline of sustainable energy investment projects in all the municipalities of Europe and is offered through four phases. This is the third phase and so far a large number of municipalities and communities have been funded from across the EU. The project will be completed with the fourth and final phase in early 2022.
The Plan provides for the granting of a grant of up to € 60.000 to each municipality or community that will apply and be approved. To apply a municipality or community must follow a special online procedure that consists of only a few quick steps. The European City Facility (EUCF) provides technical assistance to complete the application through its national contact points in each country. Through the implementation of the Plan, the EUCF aims to transform urban climate and energy action plans into real investments for the development of credible, strong and sufficiently mature investment ideas.
