The Front Page hosted the Scientific Associate of the Ministry of Labor, Fanos Kouroufexis, who spoke about the Christmas bonama announced by the Council of Ministers.
He initially stated that it is a fund of 18 million after a proposal by the Minister of Labor Zeta Emilianidou. He added that the beneficiaries are the recipients of the guaranteed minimum income for December, the low-income pensioners, the mothers with many children, the children attending the elementary, high school and kindergarten of Rizokarpasos and a small number of people assisted by the Social Welfare Services.
Mr. Kouroufexis stressed that the dates will be announced in the coming days.
At the same time, he clarified that a different formula is provided for each category. "Initially the allowance was given only to the beneficiaries of the guaranteed minimum income." He added that the needs of a family with children are calculated and they will receive 960 euros as a Christmas present.
As for the low-income retirees, he explained that the Christmas present will start at 100 euros and reach 350 euros.
Finally, he stated that before December 25, the beneficiaries will receive the Christmas bonama. "It is important because it ensures social cohesion and so the financially weak will be able to celebrate."
