The Police are investigating two cases of robbery, which were committed yesterday in Limassol, with common characteristics in the way the perpetrators acted.
According to the evidence under review, in both cases, the victims were approached by two unknown persons, who were riding a motorcycle.
The perpetrators, using violence, snatched bags from the victims and then fled in an unknown direction.
The first incident occurred at around 1.30pm, when a 60-year-old woman, while she was outside an apartment building in an area of Limassol, was approached by a motorcycle on which two people were riding.
The 60-year-old was attacked by the passenger of the motorcycle, who, after hitting her in the abdomen, managed to snatch her purse, which contained a sum of money.
The second incident occurred ten minutes earlier (around 1.20pm), when an 86-year-old woman, while outside a shop in Limassol, was approached by a motorcycle, on which two people were riding.
The perpetrators managed to grab her bag, which contained a sum of money and other personal belongings, with the passenger of the motorcycle pushing her, causing the 86-year-old to fall to the ground.
The complainant was taken to Limassol General Hospital, where it was found that she had suffered a fracture and was kept for further hospitalization.
