The Ministry of Health announces that today, November 8, 2021:
- No deaths of patients with a final cause of death were recorded COVID-19, and therefore the total number of deaths remains 576.
- 67 patients COVID-19 of which 22 are in serious condition. 65,68% of patients do not have a history of vaccination.
- 1 post-COVID patient who has ceased to be infectious (declassified cases), continues to be treated intubated in a serious condition due to COVID in Intensive Care Units.
- A total of 67,349 disease detection tests have been performed with the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test method.
- 284 (positivity rate: 0,42%) new cases of the disease COVID-19 detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test (antigen rapid test), raising the total number of cases at 126,231.
The current results are detailed.
A. Deaths from the disease COVID-19:
No patient deaths were recorded with COVID-19. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the ultimate cause of the disease COVID-19 remains 576, of which:
- 368 men (64%), and
- 208 women (36%).
The average age of those who die from the disease is 76,1 years.
B. Patients:
In total, 67 patients of the disease are treated in the hospitals of OKYPY COVID-19, of which 22 in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 22 patients in serious condition, eight are intubated, one is admitted to an intravenous intensive care unit and 13 to an intensive care unit.

C. Positive incidents Covid-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 67,349 diagnoses made, 4,474 were made by molecular method (PCR) and 62,875 by the method of antigen rapid test, 284 cases of the disease were identified. COVID-19, which emerged as follows:
- 30 cases from 423 samples taken through the process of tracking contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 4 cases of 1,665 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 44 cases from 1,759 samples taken through private initiative.
- 3 cases from 340 samples received under the program of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics.
- 149 cases from 40,318 samples tested by the antigen rapid test method in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 54 cases from 22,557 samples examined by the method of antigen rapid test through the program of the Ministry of Health.
In addition, the following tests were performed, without detecting a case:
- 287 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
