Aiming at young people under 40, sampling checks begin outside bars, cafes and beyond.

In the coming days and after the completion of the required procedures, the measure announced by the Minister of Health on Friday, August 21, during the announcement of the additional measures, is expected to be implemented.

The population intervention concerns the first phase of 5 thousand samplers every two weeks. This laboratory test will be carried out as announced in places where there is a large conglomerate, such as cafes, bars, shopping malls, universities. The aim is to record the epidemiological picture of the community. These first tests will target, as mentioned above, young people aged 18-40.

Outside the above areas there will be a mobile unit and the guests will be able to be examined by the doctors on duty. Based on the relevant decree, there is an obligation on the part of the entrepreneur / owner to allow the presence of the mobile unit, while it is clarified that it is not obligatory for the citizens.

Finally, it is recalled that yesterday, Tuesday, 14 new cases were announced, 8 of which had a travel history, a fact that concerns the epidemiological team. Regarding the issue, Dr. Petros Karagiannis who described as shock the 39 cases that were announced last Monday and had a travel history in Mykonos and the Netherlands.
