Extremely revealing was the Speaker of Parliament, Dimitris Syllouris, talking about how the Giorkatzi list came into his hands but also about how many MPs are included in it, during his morning speech on state radio.
Specifically, Mr. Syllouris stated that "in the public debate I was criticized for giving the list back. I gave it about a month after the new Commander took over, when I took it the day and the hour - it was afternoon - that Mrs. Giorkatzi told me: I am leaving today and I am packing my things. Gathering her things, she decided to send me the list as well. "
"And I gave the list back to the Commander, when he returned from America, that is, a month after he took over, because firstly it was not a requested list, secondly if it was the requested list it is wrong and no one has edited it, it was not with the right content. It has put people in, at least, for the 14 -15 deputies that we have there, 1/3 or half of them have their loans serviced and it is over ", explained Mr. Syllouris.
Mr. Sillouris, when asked if the other half have non-performing loans, replied that "I did not say that for the other halves they are non-performing, everyone examines and gives their explanations. I did not examine it, nor do I have the opportunity to do this study ".
The Speaker of Parliament also explained that even in the end the other half to have non-performing loans, should not be allowed to be understood as something incriminating.
"So the finding here is not who and how many MPs have a non-performing loan. The finding here is why this list was given to the Speaker of Parliament, why it was given without being processed and why this list had all these mistakes ", he added.
