Online courses from Monday 19 October 2020 until the end of the Winter Semester 2020 - 2021

Dear students,

I would like to inform you that, taking into account the overall epidemiological picture in the country, as well as the admission of the tracking team of the Ministry of Health (MOH), that its task becomes more difficult in terms of the speed of detecting suspected cases of the disease, self-limitation and We have decided to transfer all the courses online from, Monday 19 October 2020, until the end of the Winter Semester 2020 - 2021. With physical presence, the laboratory courses will continue to be conducted in compliance with all the protocols in force. The midterm and final examinations will also be conducted with physical presence, as the spaces we have and the measures in force allow them to be conducted safely.

Dear members of the university community,

As we had informed from the beginning, conducting physical classes was not an end in itself. It was a decision based on the epidemiological picture we had before the beginning of the semester until today. It was based on the observance of the measures, on the constant vigilance of the services, but also of all of you, in order to ensure the health and protection of the whole, but also on the belief of the majority to meet, always with distances and safety, on campus and to put of the year our goals.

So we are transported in most of the circumstances to our digital campus, which we learned from the beginning of the pandemic. We have confidence in our infrastructure, while the experience of previous months is a guarantee for quality assurance in teaching.

I would like to emphasize that to date no outbreaks have been identified on campus, and so far we have no information on the diagnosis of a positive incident related to our premises, beyond what we had already announced. Our decision is of a preventive and protective nature, as we are concerned about any untimely information of our services by the PC tracking team for suspicious or positive incidents that should be reduced.

Finally, I extend a warm request to all and everyone and especially to our students. The transition to online teaching is done precisely to limit ourselves to our homes, to reduce our socializing and contacts to the absolutely necessary and necessary. We do not want this decision to lead to rallies and gatherings in homes or other places. Stay home, observe all the hygiene and distance measures, wear your mask on every move to protect yourself and above all to protect yourself. Individual responsibility, respect for vulnerable groups and the entire population, so that we can overcome this difficult period for the country and the world as a whole.

We will be in constant communication. The situation is constantly evaluated and all decisions are made with a high sense of responsibility.

Thank you all.

Sincerely,

Professor Tassos Christofidis,

Rector
