Clarification from Ministry of Health for travelers from Britain

Specifically, the announcement clarifies that travelers, regardless of the result of the pcr examination, should perform self tests.

Due to the rapid increase in Omicron cases in the United Kingdom, all passengers entering the Republic of Cyprus from the United Kingdom over the age of 12 and regardless of vaccination coverage or previous illness must apply the following:

Until the issuance of the PCR result, they are obliged to remain in self-restraint in their place of residence. In case of a positive result, they remain strictly in self-restraint and await instructions from the Epidemiological Surveillance & Infectious Diseases Control Unit of the Ministry of Health.

Upon arrival they will receive a package containing 5 self-tests, which they will use even if they have a negative result in the PCR examination performed at the airport. They conduct a self-test every day upon arrival except on the third day (see next paragraph). In case of a positive result, they contact their Personal Doctor in Cyprus, to refer them for a free PCR examination at the Public Health Clinics of their province of residence. If they do not have a Personal Doctor in Cyprus, then they contact the Coordination of Public Health Clinics directly at the email coordination.iatreiadygeias@moh.gov.cy by sending their identification details (name, surname, telephone, ID number, date of birth and province), as well as and a photo of their positive self test.

Within 72 hours of arrival, given that the previous days had a negative result PCR at the airport and self tests, they will have to perform a free rapid test at the Mobile Control Units of the Ministry of Health by presenting their boarding pass and ID or privately . The result should be sent to the email monada2@mphs.moh.gov.cy

In the first days after the arrival of the citizens in the Republic of Cyprus, it is recommended to be especially careful and to have limited contacts, to observe the personal protection measures (use of a mask, hand hygiene, keeping distance) and to avoid any physical contact with people who belong to in vulnerable groups.
