Arrangements and security measures for conducting the football match between AEL and APOEL for the Championship CYTA A΄ Category

In view of the football match for the First Phase of the CYTA Championship between the teams AEL - APOEL, to be held on Sunday 06.2.2022 at 19:00 at the Tsirio Stadium in Limassol, the Cyprus Police announces that:

  • The entrances of the Stadium will be open to the public at this time 17:30 and fans of both teams are invited to arrive on time on the field so that they can watch the match smoothly. Due to the controls at the entrances of the Stadium for the Fan Card, Match Ticket and Digital Certificate Covid-19 Safe-Passport, any late arrival of the fans will mean a delay in entering the stands. The use of the protective mask during the entrance and presence of the fans in the stands, is mandatory.

      According to Article 37 of the Decree on the Purification Law:

  • The presence of spectators in football matches is allowed, with a fullness of 50% of the capacity of the stadium and under the following conditions:
  • (a) upon presentation of a valid certificate of integrated vaccination for the disease COVID-19, or a valid certificate of recovery from illness COVID-19Or
  • (b) by demonstration, for persons aged 6 to 11 years, of a negative laboratory test (PCR) or a rapid antigen detection test for the disease COVID-19, with sampling completed within 7 days, or
  • (c) by demonstration, for persons who cannot be vaccinated due to a medical problem, of the medical certificate issued by the Ministry of Health and a negative laboratory examination (PCR) for the disease COVID-19 or rapid antigen screening for the disease COVID-19 with sampling completed within 7 days, or
  • (d) on demonstration, for persons who have completed their vaccination and a period of 7 months has elapsed without receiving a booster dose of the vaccine, the vaccination certificate and a negative laboratory test (PCR) with the sampling taking place within 72 hours, or examination for rapid antigen detection for the disease COVID-19 with sampling completed within 48 hours, or
  • (e) by showing either a first-dose vaccination certificate in the case of a two-dose vaccine and a vaccination date not exceeding 35 days, or a single-dose vaccination certificate for the first 14 days from the date of vaccination, and a negative laboratory test ( PCR) with sampling performed within 72 hours, or rapid antigen detection test for the disease COVID-19 with the sampling done within 48 hours, in the case of persons 18 years of age and older, and within 72 hours, in the case of persons under 18 years of age:
  • It is understood that, until January 6, 2022, persons aged 12 to 17 years may enter the premises governed by this Regulation by demonstration of a negative laboratory test (PCR) or rapid antigen detection test for the disease. COVID-19, provided that the sampling was carried out within 72 hours and provided that they are accompanied by a parent / guardian holding a complete vaccination certificate with at least two doses, in the case of a two-dose vaccine or a single dose, in the case of a single-dose vaccine and negative laboratory test (PCR) or rapid antigen detection test for the disease COVID-19 or which meets the conditions of the above paragraphs:
  • It is also understood that, for persons under 6 years of age, a negative laboratory test (PCR) or rapid antigen detection test for the disease is not required. COVID-19.

According to Article 49 of the Decree on Disinfection The use of a face mask is mandatory for all persons six years of age and older, indoors where there is more than one person and outdoors where two or more persons are and / or move, and unless otherwise specified in the guidelines, issued by the Ministry of Health.
According to the arrangements made for the safe conduct and monitoring of the football match by the fans, to the fans of the home team AEL, the East stand of the stadium will be granted and Entrance no. 3 and 4 of the stage as well as the Entrance of season ticket holders (VIP).
To the fans of his host team APOEL, the West Stand will be granted and the Entrances no. 1 and 2.

  • Funds will operate at the stadium for friends of both teams and entry to them will be allowed in the stands which is specified in the ticket.
  • It is reminded that they have the right to enter the stadium ONLY Those who have secured a Fan Card, hold a valid ticket for the match and comply with the provisions of the Decrees as mentioned above.
  • The Fan Card Issuance Center at Tsirio Stadium will be open on the day of the match, Sunday 06.2.2022 between the hours of 16:00 - 19:00. All fans are invited to secure the Fan Cards in time to avoid any inconvenience.
  • For the smooth arrival and departure of the fans to and from the stadium, they are invited the fans of APOEL to be directed to Tsirio, through the streets Christofi Ergatoudi - Vassileos Konstantinou - St. Kyriakidis and park on the west side of the stadium. The fans of AEL to head to the stadium via the highway at the Agia Fylas Roundabout and Agia Fylaxeos Street where, at the suggestion of the traffic wardens, they will park their cars on the east side of the stadium. When the parking lots in the surrounding area of ​​the Stadium are full, Steliou Kyriakidi Street will be completely cut off for traffic and the fans will have to park in the neighboring area, but in a way that does not obstruct the rest of the traffic.
  • It has been decided for security reasons that backpacks and motorcycle helmets will not be allowed inside the stadium. In case a fan carries a backpack or helmet at this stage he will be delivered to the pre-designated storage areas which are for his fans APOEL at Entrance no. 1 and for her fans AEL at Entrance no.3. Otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the stadium even if they have a valid match ticket.
  • It is also stressed that the carrying of flares, crackers and other dangerous objects, as well as banners of political, insulting or other provocative content and clothes with political symbols, is strictly forbidden.
  • Due to the heavy traffic that is expected on the highways during the passage and departure of the fans from the stadium, drivers are called to be very careful and to comply with the instructions of the Police.
  • Both the Police and the two Associations, call on the fans of the two teams that will attend the match, to behave with sporty decency and in a decent context. Supervisors will be present in all areas of the stadium for the service and protection of the public and the smooth conduct of the match and the fans of both teams are requested to comply with the instructions of the supervisors and the Police.
  • Finally, it is pointed out that the Police are at the sports venues to protect the fans. It is also clarified that it will be located in the area of ​​Tsireio Stadium to provide traffic facilities to the public, both when they arrive and when they leave, but also to prevent and suppress any acts of violence by anyone.
