As part of the emergency measures taken to tackle the virus pandemic COVID-19 Laws of 2020 and 2021 and due to the large number of cases of coronavirus patients, for the purpose of simplifying procedures and faster patient care, the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance announces that it was published today in the Official Gazette of the Republic, Apofa Of Labor, Welfare and Social Security concerning the provision of Special Sickness Allowance to private sector employees or self-employed persons infected with the virus COVID-19, from 1η May 2021 and until July 31, 2021 and hold the necessary medical certificate from the Ministry of Health within the above period, in accordance with the conditions set out in the Plan. The whole process will be done by electronic submission of the relevant application and processing so that the payment of the allowance is done with a fast process.
It is noted that the application for the above Plan will be posted today on the special website www.coronavirus.mlsi.gov.cy
It is further noted that the right to apply to the Social Insurance Services remains, but in case the electronic application is submitted, the application to the Social Insurance Services will be considered as not submitted.
