The dispute over the purchase of a loudspeaker, worth eight hundred euros, was the reason for the double murder in the area of Listovounos, according to what was reported today at the District Court of Limassol, which decided on the eight-day detention of the two suspects, aged 19 and 23 .
The two suspects blame each other for the murder.
Closed circuit, however, shows them buying gasoline from a gas station in Peraklisia and placing it in a bottle, on the night of the double murder and the burning of the car.
The Police spokesperson, Christos Andreou, reported to RIK that, based on the scientific tests, the first victim is Andreas Kouzoupi, thirty-nine years old from Arakapa. The second victim appears to be a foreigner, a resident of Nicosia and the owner of the car, which was found burnt with the charred bodies of the victims.
At autopsy, it was determined that the two died of blunt force trauma to the brain, caused by a shotgun. Shotguns were found at a suspect's home and forensic tests are being conducted to determine if any were used in the murder.
The Police spokesperson noted that the two suspects had previously engaged the Police only on minor matters.
The District Court of Limassol approved their detention for conspiracy to commit a felony, premeditated murder, possession, transportation and use of a firearm and ammunition and car arson.
