An agreement between EAC and Cyprus Post for the Payment of EAC Bills at all Post Offices was signed today at an event held in the presence of the Ministers of Energy, Commerce and Industry, George Papanastasiou, and Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeadis.
According to an EAC announcement, "the signing of this agreement is the culmination of the common approach and mutual vision of the two organizations to upgrade the quality of life of our fellow citizens."
The agreement focuses on easier, better, more direct and more accessible service to the public.
According to the Chairman of the EAC Board of Directors, George Petrou, "this agreement seals a strategically important partnership between two historical and inextricably linked organizations with Cypriot society: the EAC and the Cyprus Post Office."
The objective of this agreement is multifaceted and focuses on the real needs of society, such as upgrading EAC customer service, with particular emphasis on supporting the elderly and residents of remote areas, facilitating customers who do not have access to or the necessary familiarity with electronic payment methods, providing essential facilities and saving valuable time for all EAC customers, ensuring better and faster overall service.
According to the announcement, one of the most important results of this collaboration is the significant increase in the number of points where the Electricity Bill payment service will be offered.
In addition to the 10 existing EAC Customer Service Centers, consumers will now be able to be served by all Post Offices and Postal Agencies throughout Cyprus. A network that numbers 51 points in urban, rural, and even remote areas of Cyprus.
In his statement, Mr. George Papanastasiou referred to the importance of synergies between Organizations as this is the way to achieve efficiency and flexibility with the aim of better serving the Citizen.
According to Mr. Vafeadis, the agreement between the EAC and the Department of Postal Services is a tangible example of the effort for better and easier service to citizens.
"With the new ability to pay bills at Post Offices, choices are expanded and social cohesion is strengthened. As a Government, we support every initiative that brings the state closer to the citizen," he concluded.
