An extrajudicial fine of 2.000 euros was imposed on a 25-year-old from Paphos because he refused to stop being checked by members of the Thera Service.

According to the Police, the 25-year-old was riding in a vehicle in which a signal was made to stop by members of the Thera Service, which was on patrol yesterday on the river Ezousa, near the village of Achelia. Instead of stopping, the young man developed speed and disappeared.

According to the license plates of the vehicle, the 25-year-old was located and later taken to the Paphos police station, where he admitted that he was driving the vehicle and did not stop because, as he stated, he was scared.

He was then fined 2.000 euros, which he paid.

The Hunting Service, based on the relevant Legislation, has the right to issue extrajudicial fines for violations related to the hunting sector.
