Two more flights from Lebanon carrying Australian nationals departing the region due to regional developments are expected in Larnaca today, Wednesday. According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the arrival of approximately 500 people is expected and they will depart later on chartered flights directly to Australia.
Most stay for just one night in government facilities, based on the provisions of the National HOME Scheme, and then depart for Australia.
As the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Theodoros Gotsis, stated yesterday at KYPE, so far 1.550 citizens, mainly from third countries, have left Lebanon via Cyprus, since September 27, when the assisted departures began.
Specifically, out of 1.550, 1.069 were Australian citizens.
