On Friday, 59-year-old Marios Loukas, a daily wage earner, lost his life, who fell from a height while carrying out work on a building under construction in the Amathusntas area, in Limassol.
According to the Police, it was shortly after 8 in the morning, when the 59-year-old fell from a height of about 1.8 meters, during scaffolding dismantling work.
He was taken to a private hospital, where he was diagnosed with a brain injury. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the unfortunate Louka succumbed to his injuries shortly afterwards.
The scene was visited by members of the ADE Limassol and officials of the Labor Inspection Department for on-site examinations, in order to ascertain the circumstances of the fatal occupational accident.
