The arrest of the 39-year-old occurred after members of the Police (OPE Limassol) checked suspicious persons, who were yesterday afternoon in an open area in the area of Limassol.
The 39-year-old initially presented to the members of the Police, an identity card with a different name than his real one, while during the check of his details, he pushed a member of the Police and tried to escape, as a result of which he was arrested for obvious crimes.
In a physical search of the 39-year-old, a knife was found in his possession, as well as two credit cards, with his real details.
Subsequently, he was re-arrested for the immediate offenses of impersonation, forgery, circulating a forged document and carrying a knife.
After further examinations, it was found that the 39-year-old's information has been found in the list of prohibited immigrants since 2016, while it was also found that there were three pending arrest warrants for cases of residential burglary, etc. (2017), conspiracy to commit a felony, robbery et al., (2017) and assault against a police officer et al., (2017).
Also, during a check on a second person who was in the same area, it was found that two fine warrants were pending against him, as a result of which he was arrested. Then, after arranging for their payment, he was released.
