A detention order for a period of 8 days was issued by the District Court of Limassol against a 33-year-old and a 34-year-old man, who are alleged to be the traffickers of another 18 persons who were found in a boat, early Tuesday, off the Akrotiri sea area.

The boat was spotted at around 3:30 yesterday, by the Port and Maritime Police, seven nautical miles from Akrotiri Zeugari, carrying 12 men, including the two suspects, three women and five minor children.

Everyone was taken to land, while after statements it was established that the boat sailed from the area of ​​Monis and that for their transport the passengers reportedly paid one thousand euros each, while another thousand euros would be paid upon their arrival at their destination, which was Italy.

The two suspects, who make various allegations which are being investigated, were brought to court, which approved the request of the Police for their eight-day personal detention.
